The Ontario Court of Justice has had its doors shut since March 16th due to Covid-19. This means individuals who had trials and preliminary inquiries scheduled have had those dates vacated, those whose matters were proceeding have slowed or stalled and those who have yet to have a first appearance have had those dates pushed back as far as September 11, 2020.

All matters which were scheduled between March 16th, 2020 and July 3rd, 2020 have ben adjourned to a presumptive date set by the schedule below. To maintain jurisdiction over these matters the courts have being ordering bench warrants with discretion to the new dates. https://www.ontariocourts.ca/ocj/covid-19/criminal-list-adjournment/

Similarly, all in person matters in the SCJ have been put on hold until July 6th 2020. https://www.ontariocourts.ca/scj/notices-and-orders-covid-19/consolidated-notice/
